Nakamura/Tessellations 2018 Wall Calendar

Price: £13.42

Any discussion on tessellations usually returns to the Alhambra, in Spain, where fourteenth-century artisans tiled seemingly endless surfaces with repeating, interlocking, never overlapping geometric patterns. These tiles inspired M.C. Escher, the father of modern tessellation art. Escher, in turn, inspired Makoto Nakamura. Born in Tokyo in 1947, Nakamura began creating tessellations in the 1970s after studying graphic design at the Tama Art University. This calendar contains twelve monthly grids and full-colour artwork.Open Height (mm): 660, Open Width (mm): 305
